February
February days filled
with sleet and snow
make it hard for
deer to forage, and
birds take to flight;
Winter laden trees
sway with the wind
while providing shelter
from the cold
for wooded wildlife
What if the trees didn't provide shelter? I share a limerick laden with sadness:
ReplyDeleteAn Idaho bird getting thinner
Forgot to fly south for the winter.
She couldn't find rest
In her icy cold nest.
For you see she was just a beginner.
:-) or should it be :-(
I can hear those trees swaying....
