The Morning Sky

The morning sky never
the same from day to day
from hour to hour
minute to minute
clouds drift leisurely by
or swiftly by, constantly
changing shape and size
They can be white and
billowy or wispy, like
Angels wings on high
Sometimes like an
artists rendering, darkly
shadowed with charcoal grey
or painted with a purple haze
The sun breaks through
with its brilliant orange
highlighting the grass
glistening from dew
Giving light to the pasture,
the field, to neighborhood streets
Bringing a peaceful, prayerful
moment. A reflection of hope;
and the start of another new day

  6. Very lovely, Kathy. You do have a way with words. I'm so sorry for the smoke you have to contend with. Praying for all who lost their homes and treasures.
